Leave the bustle of Beijing behind, and visit two China's most remarkable UNESCO World Heritage sites in Chengde in this 2 full days tour. Day 1 to Jinshanling Great Wall and for the day 2, your destination is the Chengde Mountain Resort: built in the 18th century during the Qing Dynasty, the enormous palace complex was used as an imperial summer retreat. You'll also discover the Buddhist Puning Temple. Round-trip transit from your Beijing hotel, admission to the sites, and a private guide are all included. You can book the hotel for one night nearby the wall or in the Chengde city by your own expense.

Summer Mountain Resort - is famed for its reputation as the private resort for Chinese emperors during summer;
Start the tour from your hotel at 8:00am, 2.5 hours or more drive to the Jinshanling by highway, then hike from west side Jinshanling Great Wall to the east side of Jinshanling section. The hike is about 5 km and takes about 3 - 4 hours. you have to be really physically in good conditions. Through the whole journey, you come across many watch towers and barrier towers. See the difference between the renovated section and wild section. While you can see the Simatai section from distance and due to the Simatai section has blocked from Jinshanling wall and you can't hike to the Simatai section. If you are not good at hiking, you also can just walk on the wall enter and out of the same entrance to make at the tour shorter at 2 - 2.5 hours.
You can choose to stay at the hostel nearby Jinshanling or over night in Chengde this day. Please check and book the hotel by your own arrangement.
Chengde is a neighbor city of Beijing, has been a favorite place as a royal summer retreat. you can explore the one of the famous summer resort in China, that is much bigger than Forbidden City. Constructed between 1703 and 1792 during the Qing Dynasty, the Mountain Resort was the exclusive place where the emperors and royal members spent summer. It is regarded as one of China's four famous gardens, and the other three are Summer Palace in Beijing, Humble Administrator's Garden and Lingering Garden in Suzhou.
The western and northern parts of the Summer Resort are the mountain area which commands a beautiful view of layer upon layer of green hills. You can enjoy the natural scenery with fresh air.
You also have a chance to visit the Little Potala Palace next that is also a Buddhist temple complex with Tibetan Style.
After lunch, visiting Puning Temple that is one of the famous Eight Outer Temples in Chengde. There is a large wooden Buddhist statue with thousands of hands and eyes in the main hall that is one of the famous large-scale wood-carved Buddha statues in China. So it's worth to take a look.
Transfer back to your hotel in Beijing to finish the entire trip.

The quoted price is for an 8-hours tour per day. If you use more than 6 hours or less than 8 hours per day it will still be considered a full day.
Additional hours are billed at 50CNY to 100CNY for the guide and 50CNY to 100CNY for the driver.
Please note that the itinerary is flexible and we can adjust it according to your personal interests, the weather or any unexpected conditions.
For the lunch, we will take you to the authentic Chinese local restaurant catering for the locals with great dishes. If you prefer to take a lunch in a fancy restaurant or order dishes more than our budget then you can just cover the cost difference above our budget!
