Shanghai 3-Day Private Tour (1 Day in Suzhou)

Firstly, drive to Longhua Road, where is famous for  the ancient Longhua Temple and its pagoda. It's the oldest temple in Shanghai for its long history of over 1700 years.

Then go to Shanghai old town area and the related city area, visiting famous Yu Yuan Garden and Bazaar, good wondering though a market that lots of small shops / vendors selling souvenirs, hand-made crafts, folk crafts, packed snacks.

At the lunch time, your tour guide can recommend some authentic Chinese restaurants that cater whatever you are craving for and have a short rest.

Afternoon, continuing to local Wet Flower & Bird Market to experience the local people's life.

The next destination that go to the Bund area, which is one of the top ten Shanghai attractions. Notice it's impressive European style buildings located on the Bund, just like a gallery of international architectures.

Then continue to Lujiazui Finance and Trade Zone, is the place not only being the finance and trade center of Shanghai, even China, but also full of the high skyscrapers. Take the outside view and take some nice pictures there

Meet your guide in your downtown area Shanghai hotel lobby at 8:00am or your request time, 1.5 - 2  hours drive to Suzhou.

Your first stop is the famous Tongli Water Town, which are well known for their bridges, rivers, and ancient house complexes. It is divided into seven islands intersected by 15 canals. Because of the landscape, almost all of the buildings in the town are along the waterfront. In front of the buildings, small stairs leading to the canals were built, which are convenient for residents to wash clothes and for traveling around the town by boat. You seem to have come to the ancient China Town. You may have a chance to take a boat in the river by your own expense.

After exploring the water town, drive to Suzhou city and have the local lunch (your own expense) before the next station.

Then to visit Panmen Gate - the oldest city gate of Suzhou and the only existing water and land gate in China. Originally built during the Warring States Period in the state of Wu, historians estimate it to be around 2,500 years old. You'll enjoy the enchanting view of the whole old town of Suzhou.

Next to visit a Suzhou style garden - Garden of Master of Nets, although it's the smallest of the Suzhou residential garden, yet it is the most impressive because of its use of space which creates the illusion of an area that is much greater than its actual size.

The garden demonstrates Chinese garden designers' adept skills for synthesizing art, nature, and architecture to create unique metaphysical masterpieces. Don't miss it.

Afterwards, drive back to Shanghai and drop you off at centrally located hotel to conclude the Suzhou day trip.

Morning to visit the local parks and alleys in the Former French Concession Area - have an idea of the morning activities of the Shanghai locals, experience the life style and be a local here.

The visit Little White House, it is a spectacular mansion which was one of the most opulent houses in former French Concession. It was home to a high-ranking official of the French Municipality at that time. Now is Shanghai Arts and Crafts Museum.

Lunch will be at a local restaurant or by your request at your own cost.

Afternoon to visit 2 museums - Shanghai Jewish Refugees Museum and Shanghai Museum. If you think it's too much then you can choose one of them to visit.

Shanghai Jewish Refugees Museum, where is housed in the former Ohel Moshe Synagogue where the Jewish refugees gathered for religious activities, serves as a witness commemorating the phase of history when the Jewish refugees lived in Shanghai. Shanghai Museum is a large museum of ancient Chinese art. It is divided into eleven galleries and three exhibition halls, boasts 120,000 pieces of rare and precious cultural relics in 21 categories.

Last stop, you have the chance of visiting the Global Financial Center top and have a panoramic view of whole modern city.
