This tour is designed for people who are keen to see the entombed Longmen Grottoes but only have very limited time from Xi'an. 1.5-hour round high speed train takes you to Luoyang where your local guide will show you the highlights - Longmen Grottoes and Shaolin Temple. We will arrange the hassle-free pickup and drop-off in Xi'an and Luoyang. All the transportation, entrance tickets, English speaking guide and return second class train tickets are inclusive in this fun-packed day. Please cover the lunch by your own expense.

Early morning pick-up from your hotel in Xi'an by the private driver, then transfer to Xi'an North Station and take the morning high speed train from Xi'an North Station to Luoyang Longmen Station (around 1.5 - 2 hours ride), you will be at Luoyang between 9:00am - 9:30am.
Once you are at the Xi'an north railway station, you are required to do a security check before entering the train station and there's a 5-8 minutes walk from the ticket gate to the platform. There may be long stairs and slopes without an escalator, so it is recommended that you pack lightly.
Arriving in Luoyang, met by our local Luoyang English speaking guide and transferred to drive to Longmen Grottoes, which is located in the south of Luoyang City. They are between Mount Xiang and Mount Longmen and face Yi River. The grottoes were started around the year 493 when Emperor Xiaowen of the Northern Wei Dynasty (386-534) moved the capital to Luoyang and were continuously built during the 400 years until the Northern Song Dynasty (960-1127). The scenery measures 1,000 metres (about 1,094 yards) from north to south where there are over 2,300 holes and niches, 2,800 steles, 40 dagobas, 1,300 caves and 100,000 statues. Most of them are the works of the Northern Wei Dynasty and the flourishing age of the Tang Dynasty (618-907). Lots of historical materials concerning art, music, religion, calligraphy, medicine, costume and architecture are kept here.
And then it'll take around 1.5 - 2 hours drive to Shaolin Temple, which is in the region of Song Mountain, Dengfeng city, Henan Province, and is reputed to be "The Number One Temple under Heaven". It was listed on UNESCO's World Cultural & Natural Heritage List in 2010, and it is the cradle of the Chinese Zen Buddhism and the Shaolin Martial Arts such as Shaolin Cudgel.
After finishing your tour, you are transferred back to Luoyang Longmen Railway Station. Then take the high-speed train around 19:00pm - 20:00pm back to Xian. Upon arrival in Xian, we will arrange the driver to meet you at the station and transfer back to your hotel in Xi'an to finish the entire tour.
Please note: it's a vey long day tour around 13 - 14 hours, it's suitable for the clients who are full energetic.
